Where do you start when thinking about hiring a professional wedding photographer? After all, this is one of the most important days of your life! Choosing the right photographer to ensure your memories are everything you expect them to be is equally as important. Asking the right questions can help guide you to making the right choice. We recommend making an initial "phone interview" before making an appointment to interview your prospective photographers. -here are some of the more important questions you could ask...
- Are you a full-time photographer, or do you have another job?
- Will you be the actual photographer on our wedding day? If not, who will be?
- Why do you like to photograph weddings?
- What kind of input can we have? i.e: shortlists and idea's from pictures we have seen.
- Are the digital files available on CD/DVD?
- Do you have a reference bride we can contact to chat to?

- If our event lasts longer then we planned, will the photographer stay, and are there extra charges for this?
- What happens if our photographer falls ill? Who will replace them?
- Do you use professional photography equipment?
And because we feel this decision is so important, here's 10 more...
- What Professional Photography Associations are you a member of?
- Can we see samples from an entire shoot?
- What style of photography would you describe your work as? Posed, formal, relaxed, photo-journalistic, candid, traditional?
- Can we see sample albums of your work?
- Will you dress professionally on the day?
- How does your payment structure work? Deposits, cancellation policies, etc.
- Do we get to sign a contract?
- Who will we be dealing with after the wedding?
