It's a brand New Year !

Well, 2010 is done and dusted and what a great year it was. We photographed loads of families around the Sunshine Coast from Noosa to Caloundra and into the hinterland. We do wish the rain would go away but it did force us to take a much needed break over the Christmas / New year holiday period.
2011 holds great promise with many weddings locked in already and a few portrait sessions booked through January and February. We have discovered a couple of new stunning locations on our fantastic coastline which adds variety to our backdrops.
It seems we have attracted a few pregnant mums recently wanting to show off their beautiful baby bumps as well as a couple of newborns wanting to be stars and making an early start to their claim to fame.
On a personal note, I have recently managed to complete an open water dive course with my son and am really looking forward to the opportunities underwater photography will present. Who knows, maybe an underwater wedding – wouldn't that be different!

It's wedding season on the Sunshine Coast and we are looking forward to the next few weeks.  I had the pleasure of photographing Leanna and Chris' wedding at the House of Laurels near Maleny a few days ago and we had the best weather possible.  The day was gorgeous, as was Leanna in her beautiful wedding dress. Some of what we do requires stopping by the side of the road when we see all the elements that make a good photograph come into play. Of course the light is the most important element and with the late afternoon sun streaming through the trees, I called a halt to the cavalcade. I took the happy couple aside having seen this spot next to a local farm and clicked away.  Then it was off to one of our favourite spots to capture the magic moments at sunset.

It’s been such an exciting few weeks of photography with plenty of portraits under our belts and a couple of weddings thrown in for good measure. The weather at this time of the year is just magnificent, with unreal cloud formations marching across our skies allowing for the most gorgeous of sunsets.
